Lil Wayne Is ‘Nervous’ About ‘Tha Carter V’

Gracing publication’s 17th anniversary issue, the Young Money capo discusses a range of topics, including the signing of Drake and Nicki Minaj as well as his huge appreciation for Prince. But among the other talking points was none other than the long-awaited Carter V. Having already released teasers with “Krazy,” “D’usse” and the chart-topping “Believe Me,” Weezy discussed his pre-release jitters with C5, telling writer Jeff Weiss, “I’m always feeling like I ain’t done shit.”

“I’m still nervous about Tha Carter V, I’m confident about what I do, but I’m still nervous about what people think,” he added. This of course was after he highlighted the previous success of his past Carter releases. “I was feeling the success of Tha Carter I. I felt like people wanted to hear me. I was amped to do that, but then Tha Carter III? I don’t know what happened. It was amazing. And then Tha Carter IV was just unexplainable, and now this one here, there’s no words,” he added. “I just hope everyone likes it.” Considering the amount of attention, not to mention anticipation, for the project, Wayne without a doubt has a reason to be nervous.
