Despite not having no experience as a elected official, Lori Lightfoot made history by becoming the first Black woman to become mayor of Chicago. In addition to being a Black woman, Lightfoot is also the first openly gay mayor in Chicago. She defeated Toni Preckwinkle in a runoff earlier this week. To read more about this story click here.
