Lots of singers and rappers work on New Year’s Eve, but the amount that Meek Mill is being paid is pretty astounding. He is supposedly getting 200 thousand dollars for his appearance, plus 20 thousand to cover expenses, plus a guarantee of his own dang bar in the green room that includes 10 bottles of Ace of Spades, 5 bottles of Moet Nectar Rosé, plus some Hennessy and an unnamed tequila. Maybe that’s where they’ll cut costs and just buy the cheapest brand.
Some of that alcohol and money will be for Meek’s crew, of course, but that’s still a lot of money for one night of work. He just needs to do that every night all year and he can almost make as much as Nicki Minaj.
If you’re interested in flying to Florida to watch a rapper get wasted, tickets to the event cost only $60 for ladies and $109 for dudes. That sounds pretty cheap if they’re hoping to cover the entertainment bill, but there are also VIP packages going from $4k to 10k. Now that’s quality tequila money.
