The lawyers for Meek Mill are trying hard to get the presiding judge off his probation violation case. Judge Genece Brinkley, has been the subject of a FBI investigation and was the judge involved with Meek Mill gun charge in 2008. “Time after time, Judge Brinkley has continued to display unethical behavior as she has presided over Meek’s case,” Meek Mill’s lawyer Joe Tacopina said. “We will work diligently to rectify this grave miscarriage of justice and ensure that Meek’s wrongful conviction is overturned and he is granted the new and fair trial that he deserves.” he continued.
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has already denied Meek’s lawyers request to remove Judge Brinkley. They have suggested in order to proceed with the matter, that his legal team should move the case to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. Meek Mill released a statement regarding the situation “I’m grateful that my legal team will have the opportunity to present a thorough appeal to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and make sure my case will be heard in a fair and balanced manner,” he said.
