On August 26th, the MTV VMA Awards will take place in Newark New Jersey. The network will honor Missy Elliott and present her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. “Missy’s impact on the music landscape is indelible,” said Bruce Gillmer, who is MTV International’s co-brand head and Viacom music talent head. “Her creative vision across production, performance, and songwriting is unmatched,” he continued. In addition to that, Missy will also be performing live at the show for the first time in 16 years.
