MLB legend Alex Rodriguez and Silicon Valley CEO Anne Wojcicki ‘split’ after less than a year of dating

The two dated for just under a year, but friends speculate that their drastically different lives simply became too much.

The news comes ahead of the Oscars on Sunday evening, as A-Rod prepares to attend the after-parties on his own.

A source told Page Six: ‘They were an unusual couple, from very different backgrounds, but they are both smart business people, and had quite a few things in common, including a fascination with the tech world.

‘But, perhaps in the end, they were a little too different.’

Sources say that the couple split a few months ago, but remain on good terms.

Rodriguez was seen speaking to reporters in Tampa on Friday preceding a spring training game between the Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.

Also known as A-Rod on the field, Rodriguez, 41, played his last game for the Yankees just last August and announced he’d be signing a new contract with the team as an adviser during the 2017 season.

He was reportedly fascinated by Wojcicki and her sparkling intelligence.

She is worth billions and pioneered a DNA research company, 23andMe, in 2003, which gives individualized information on clients genetic history.

It also does research into diseases such as Parkinson’s and asthma.

She was previously married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and the two have remained cordial after their divorce was finalized in 2015.

Rodriguez, who has previously been linked to stars the likes of Madonna, Cameron Diaz, and Kate Hudson, was married for four years from 2004-2008 to Cynthia Scurtis with whom he shares two daughters, Natasha and Ella.
