More Measles Cases in Minnesota this Year than the Entire United States in 2016

The Minnesota Health Department are trying to contain a measles outbreak that is taking place in their state. Officials have identified the outbreak primarily within the Somali American community in the state. This is believed to occur because of a false rumor that the vaccine causes autism. Pamphlets were passed out in their community by anti vaccine group that sparked the rumor. Health and Muslim religious leaders are fearing that the disease may spread even more throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan. To read more about this story click here.
