New Leaks Show How Apple Is Seriously Upgrading the iPhone 7

Apple tipster Sonny Dickson leaked images to 9to5Mac that show a 7s Plus dummy model with a glass back, instead of aluminum, which seems to indicate the phones will have inductive charging, i.e. wireless charging with a charging pad—no more Lightning cable required. Besides making wireless charging easier, the glass back allows for stronger signal reception.

Unfortunately, reports indicate the wireless charging might not be ready until after the iPhone 7s models are available to consumers, meaning you’d have to wait for future update to ditch the charging cord. But fortunately, the new models are expected to cost the same as previous models—between $650 and $780—which is a hell of a lot less than the rumored $1,000 iPhone 8.
