Nike Chicago Basketball Reunion Was A True Celebration Of Chi-Town Hoops

Nike made sure to provide a memorable experience for high school students who showed up from various schools across the state. Some of those schools were Simeon, Whitney Young, and Marshall. Those three schools alone have produced NBA players such as Derrick Rose, Jahlil Okafor, and Patrick Beverly respectively. The event included recreational games for the students to participate in. The South Shore High School Drill team came out and did their thing. There was food provided by well-known restaurants like Harold’s Chicken and Robinson Ribs.  A DJ played music and the students got a chance to get advice from a panel of former WNBA and NBA players like Janerro Pargo and Scottie Pippen. In short, it was truly a family reunion for basketball players in Chicago. In addition to celebrating the basketball players, there was also a tribute to a few coaches such as Dorothy Gathers of Marshall High School. In all, there was a true sense of camaraderie between the Chicago hoops community. In addition to the official photographs from the event, I have a ton of pictures that I took. I posted some below but to catch all the moments from the experience, you can follow me on Instagram @arrogantbdotg or Blacktruthnews on Instagram.
