I told myself I wasn’t provide any coverage of Tekashi 6ix9ine once he was released from prison. But I think that it is worth publicizing that the rapper’s donation to the No Kid Hungry campaign was rejected. Tekashi made a $200,000 dollar contribution to the charity only to be told it wasn’t going to be accepted. “As a child-focused campaign, it is our policy to decline funding from donors whose activities do not align with our mission and values,” says Share Our Strength, the nonprofit group that runs the campaign, told the BBC.
Tekashi pleaded guilty to involvement to sexual performance involving a 13-year-old in 2015. He went to jail after pleading guilty to gang related charges involving his then crew the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. He had his sentence reduce after cooperating with the Federal government and released this year after authorities he was at risk to catch the Coronavirus. In response to Share Our Strength statement, the rapper said he “never seen something so cruel.”
