NYPD Closes Case Against Officer Who Ordered Police To Shoot 50 Cent “On Sight”

Gonzalez allegedly instructed officers to “Shoot [50 Cent] on sight” if they saw him at an NYPD boxing match that took place in June of 2018. Concerned officers sent text messages to each other about the comment, which eventually led to an internal investigation.

“The inspector just said at roll call if u see Kurtis Jackson (aka 50cent) shoot on site … I’m like wtf,” an officer texted on June 8, 2018, according to the publication. At least eight other officers and a supervisor confirmed that Gonzalez made the remark during a roll call.

After learning of the remark and investigation, 50 Cent took to social media where he bashed Gonzalez, calling him a “Gangsta with a badge.” During the investigation, Gonzalez filed an aggravated harassment complaint against 50, claiming the rapper threatened him on Instagram by using his popular “get the strap” hashtag.
