On Friday, May 27, 2016, come to 3500 South State Street, at 6:00 pm, in Chicago, Illinois, to celebrate the life of Yvonne Nelson

Victim One – Yvonne Nelson, beautiful, vibrant, hardworking and an example of what the Black community and what Chicago can produce.  You may bring flowers, candles or balloons.

Victim Two – A young Black men also shot about the same time on the same block.  Because he had contact with the Chicago police 3 or 4 years ago, he was listed as a “career, documented gang member and the intended target” of the shooter.  The Chicago police could not be more wrong.  Phillip Jackson knows the young man personally.  They don’t!

Victim Three – The businesses on 35th and State Street, in Chicago.  All of them have been negatively impacted by the recent shooting and killing of Ms. Nelson.  Please come out on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 6:00 pm to celebrate the life of Yvonne Nelson and to also spend money with the shops on 35th and State Street.

Victim Four – The Black community is a victim.  Many Black people won’t open stores because of violence in our communities.  Because we don’t have businesses, we cannot hire our children to work for us.  Then they become victims.

Victim Five – The whole city of Chicago becomes a victim.  Our reputation as a great city is diminished and our economics continue to suffer.

Victim Six – Even the shooter is a victim.  We hope the shooter is arrested, tried, convicted and punished appropriately.  But even so, he is a victim of our society and his environment.
