Oprah Winfrey was one of the guest speakers at a recent Apple event to promote the launch of their out Apple TV+ streaming service. Starting in fall 2019, Apple will start Apple TV+, which is a subscription streaming service that will release new movies and shows every month. Subscriptions will be available on Apple products and smart TV’s. At the March 25th event, Oprah announced that she will have her book club on Apple. She said that it will be the “biggest, most vibrant, and stimulating” book club on the plant. The media mogul also will be producing two documentaries for Apple TV+. The first one will be titled Toxic Labor, and will focus on sexual harassment in the workplace. The second one will be a multipart series that focuses on mental health.
Oprah will join other big-time celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Octavia Spencer who will also produce content for Apple TV+. Apple’s senior vice president of internet software and services, Eddy Cue released a statement saying “We’re thrilled to give viewers a sneak peek of Apple TV+ and cannot wait for them to tune in starting this fall. Apple TV+ will be home to some of the highest quality original storytelling that TV and movie lovers have seen yet.” He added, “We’re honored that the absolute best lineup of storytellers in the world — both in front of and behind the camera — are coming to Apple TV+.”
