Banks, 24, was at the Break Room 86, an 80s-themed karaoke bar in Koreatown, with her entourage last month when security at the club say she became unruly and was asked to leave.
But as she approached the front door, she apparently attempted to pull a fire valve on the club’s wall, prompting a guard to try and stop her, according to surveillance footage obtained by TMZ.
She and her entourage then started to grapple with the guard at the venue’s entrance, the footage appears to show. At one point, the Broke with Expensive Taste rapper was reportedly hit herself.
In the grainy surveillance footage, a man is shown pulling Banks away, before a group then surrounds him. A second security guard eventually shows up and helps to break up the melee.
The LAPD has now launched a criminal battery investigation into the alleged incident.
The footage emerges just a day after Banks announced she would be cancelling tour dates for a second time in a matter of months, blaming being ‘busy at work’.
The rapper, who is currently better known for her feuds than for her music, has been involved in spats with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora, ASAP Rocky, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga and Iggy Azalea.
In September, she was also caught on camera launching a foul mouthed tirade against a flight attendant and trying to attack a man after she was unable to get off a plane.
She had been attempting to disembark the jet when it landed in Los Angeles from New York in September, but a French couple were blocking her path while other passenger retrieved their luggage from the overhead storage.
As the French man put his hand out to tell her to wait, Azealia went mad, and according to an eyewitness, spat and punched him in his face and clawed at his shirt.
Taking her frustrations out on a flight attendant, she screamed and called him a ‘f***ing f***ot.’
This prompted her to be criticized by the LGBT community who slammed her for her choice of language. However, the controversial rapper hit back, calling them the ‘gay white KKK.’
Banks, who is openly bisexual topped music newspaper NME’s Cool List in 2011.
She also finished third in the BBC’s Sound of 2012, but it was not until 2014 that her debut album Broke With Expensive Taste was finally released.
