Prince Victory against Labels, Free Music Comes to Full View after his Death

God Bless Prince! Even in his death he is proving a point. Whenever a famous artist dies, all you see is a timeline full of people posting songs. Not Prince. You can pay your respect and condolences for free; but not that classic music. Nope. You got to pay for that. So the real fans who really loved his music either have to listen to the album that they Bought already or you got to buy a new one >> Or you can pay to go to a venue and listen to a DJ play Prince from album he bought. Either way you will have to pay people for their work. As an independent artist I freaking Love that! Artists have to pay for the musicians, producers and engineers. They also have to pay for studio time, wardrobe and videos. Then someone wants you to give them the music for FREE!

Some people think if the artist is sign to a major label that the label will pay for that? Think again. That comes out of the artists advance and any record sales he/she makes. This is what Prince fought against his whole career. There are legendary artists who have put their heart and soul into timeless music that they do not own. This is what Prince was fighting for. He said in 2010 that the “internet was dead,” and released his music only on CD. Well it didn’t seem like made any sense at the time but try to get his music on the internet and sees who looks stupid. The man was more than a musical genius; he was a revolutionary. Anytime you force change in any system, then you are revolutionary. Especially in a time where one of the most famous artists like Kanye West said he will no longer make CD’s. But Prince is Prince. No one could get away with the things he did. He was and will remain in a category of his own. The best way to describe to people who are not artists how he was champion for artists is to use this analogy: You want a fair pay for the work you done at your job. So did Prince! The man played every instrument, wrote his songs, and sang them. Yeah he dead but he is showing everyone why he changed his name to a symbol. He was no slave. He was no Prince. He was King, Genius and may he rest in peace.
