It seems Jocelyn Savage has a change of heart and story regarding her relationship with R. Kelly. Earlier this year in an interview with Gayle King, she stated that she was “absolutely” in love with R. Kelly. “He is our full support and we are his full support. All we need is each other.” Jocelyn said during the interview.
Now it seems that Jocelyn needs more since R. Kelly has been locked away in jail. She went on Instagram and shared that she will be putting out daily chapters of her life while staying with Kelly.
Her first entry details how Kelly was controlling and demanded her to call him “Daddy.”
“After these couple of months Robert started giving me commands, and making sure I call him by certain names. Like ‘Master’ or ‘Daddy’ which I didn’t really care for at the time.” She continued, “If I wasn’t getting paid or pursuing my dream I would’ve went home, but all of that didn’t stop just yet.”
But It started getting worse by day by day, he would raise his voice at me if I didn’t call him by those two names. If Robert called me I would have to reply with ‘Yes, daddy’ or ‘Please daddy’ he was so controlling.”
I’m wondering why she didn’t mention this back in 2017 when her family called the cops to R. Kelly’s home requesting a well-being check for Jocelyn. Her family alleged that Kelly was her holding her against her will and asked her to come home. That moment seemed like a perfect opportunity for her to come out and share her story. Instead, she has been supportive of R. Kelly throughout his ordeal up until now
I’m not going to accuse Jocelyn of lying, but the timing of her story makes it seems a little disingenuous. R. Kelly’s lawyer Steven Greenberg had this to say about Jocelyn:
“It is unfortunate that Jocelyn now seeks to make money by exploiting her long time, loving relationship with Robert.”
Greenberg adds, “Obviously if she were to tell the truth no one would pay so she has, unfortunately, chosen to regurgitate the stories and lies told by others for her own personal profit. We know the real facts, and it was not until the money ran out that she decided anything was wrong. Hopefully people will see it for the Obvious profiteering it is.”
I’m not sure how much Jocelyn is getting paid for her story and if money is the primary factor behind her speaking out now. It just seems odd that she is choosing this paid platform to speak her truth now. I mean R. Kelly is locked up and doesn’t appear to be getting out soon, so she is not seeking justice. She stated that she is “risking my life for many others.” What many others is she referring to and why didn’t she come out when the other women spoke up during the “Surviving R. Kelly” series?
