Back in 1990, Desiree Sanders opened an Afrocentric bookstore in Chicago. It functioned not only as a Black owned business but a way to provide Black people with books that focused on Black stories. Twenty-one years later her daughter has followed in her footsteps by opening a bookstore in Chicago.
