For those unfamiliar with the term “messing up the churches money” I get it from the line Bernie Mac says in the Players Club movie. It is something us Blacks folks say when someone’s stupid behavior or a set of unfortunate circumstances mess up the flow of business. This is what happened when Roseanne Barr thought it would be funny to go on Twitter and say racist things regarding Muslims and former Obama staff member Valerie Jarrett. As a result of her tweets, the new reboot of the Roseanne show has been cancelled; in addition to all re-runs being removed from TV Land, CMT and Hulu.
Roseanne may have enough money already, but the removal of the show from television takes money out of the pockets of the several actors, actresses, writers and producers who may need it. This is something Roseanne acknowledged when she sent out more tweets trying to explain her behavior. “I just want to apologize to the hundreds of people, and wonderful writers (all liberal) and talented actors who lost their jobs on my show due to my stupid tweet.” she said. In the end, it was a classic example of not thinking before you speak and dealing with the repercussions later. Maybe this is why Roseanne supports Donald Trump, because he does the same thing all the time.
