Prior to his acclaimed guest duties on Saturday Night Liveit had been over eleven years since Dave Chappelle last appeared on television, unceremoniously walking off of the set of his own eponymously-titled show in 2005. He eventually returned to his stand-up roots, headlining festivals and routinely selling out shows across the country.
