Dominican Republic’s chief prosecutor has stated that six suspects, including the gunmen have been arrested in connection with the David Ortiz shooting. “At this moment, they are being interrogated and we will continue deepening the investigation to get to the truth about what happened,” the chief prosecutor Jean Alain Rodriguez said.
There are other suspects being pursued in the incident and according to Police Maj. Gen. Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte the alleged person who coordinated the attack was offered $7,800. Witnesses say that saw two men on motorcycle and two other groups of people in a car during the attack. Ortiz is currently in ICU at Massachusetts General Hospital. “His condition is guarded, and he will remain in the ICU for the coming days, but he is making good progress toward recovery,” his wife Tiffany Ortiz said.
