Troy Davis received the death penalty despite lack of evidence in his case

On Sept. 6th2011 in the state of Georgia, A Chatham County Judge signed death warrants to proceed with the execution of Troy Anthony Davis. Davis was accused of killing a white Savannah Police officer in 1989. Since then he has pleaded his innocence while sitting on death row.
