Still No Justice: Wisconsin Officer who Shot Jacob Blake will not be Charged

Despite the footage, Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley didn’t find Sheskey at fault. “No Kenosha law enforcement officer in this case will be charged with any criminal offense,” Graveley said.

Following the shooting, citizens in Kenosha protested a riot for a few days. Kenosha city council voted in favor of Mayor John Antaramian’s emergency declaration “regarding potential civil unrest,” and gave him emergency powers for eight days. Additionally, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) dispatched 500 National Guard troops to assist with local law enforcement.

Blake’s attorney Ben Crump said he will keep fighting and stated that he and Blake’s family “are immensely disappointed.”
