Swank PR host panel discussion on Artist Business and Branding at Lake FX Event in Chicago

The event was part of the two-day Chicago Lake FX gathering that took place at Chicago’s Cultural Center. Gatlin was joined on the panel by manager/publicist Lyrical who has clients such as Dreezy and Lil Durk. “It took a long time for us to make Lil Durk change in order to get more opportunities,” Lyrical said. Also on the panel were Tracy Anderson of Burrell Communications, Marc Glanville of Mosaic XM, David Jackson of Burrell Communications, and Anthony Winfield of Born Leaders Inc. The discussion was moderated by Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Respect Magazine.

The discussion focused on various aspects of branding such as the transition from the artist creating music to social media to presenting it to the public. They talked about the origins of urban marketing with artists like LL Cool J and Queen Latifah. “I think Jay Z played an integral part in getting artists to not only focus on music but their business,” Gatlin said. The discussion lasted about an hour and a half and was a part informative weekend in downtown Chicago.
