Nineteen-year-old Mohannad Halaweh of Rohnert Park is accused of maintaining a lavish lifestyle involving an exotic sports car and multimillion dollar mansions through stolen credit card numbers.
Sonoma County Sheriff’s officials say his wild ride in a $240,000 McLaren sports car came to an end after the car was reported stolen June 4th.
“I think he just likes living the high roller lifestyle at 19 years old,” Sgt. Mike Raasch told KTVU.
Investigators say the former Analy High School basketball star used a stolen number from an American Express card out of Redondo Beach to pay $13,000 to rent the McLaren. The car was rented from a San Jose company, which trucked the car to Sonoma County airport at Halaweh’s request.
