Teen appears in court, accused of living lavish lifestyle with stolen credit card numbers

Authorities say Halaweh used the same stolen American Express number to rent the mansion and never had face to face contact with the property manager.

The property manager told police he became suspicious after watching surveillance cameras which showed several vehicles entering the property. The vehicles had their license plates removed. Also, a parent who picked up her child at the house called police to report a large group of underage people drinking alcohol.

Police responded, but say they had no knowledge Halaweh had allegedly used a stolen credit card number to rent the mansion.

“The ironic thing about the whole thing is the morning, the afternoon he was arrested in the McLaren, he was in court that day,” said Sgt. Raasch.

Raasch says Halaweh pleaded guilty in Alameda County for fraud in connection to purchases made at an Apple store in Berkeley. He’s awaiting sentencing on those charges.

Also, officials say Halaweh was arrested last December after a wild party at another luxury rental property in Sonoma where gunshots were fired. Sheriff’s investigators say Halaweh admitted alcohol was being served to minors and that case is still pending.

Investigators say Halaweh liked to use the nickname “Mo Money”.
