3.) Twista: I remember when Twista was known as “Tung Twista” and he used to spit lyrics every Saturday on the “Rap down” Show that was on 107.5 WGCI in Chicago. The DJ who was DJ ‘Eric the Wiz” used to have a mix at the end of the show and when he was almost done he would have Tung Twista come on the microphone and spit a rhyme. That was over 20 years ago and in 2014 Twista is still spitting rhymes to fans around the world.
It’s just not the longevity that made me considered Twista as an underrated emcee. He is also a specialist. Similar to the aforementioned Too Short, Twista has a unique style that he is identified with and he has mastered it. His rapid style flow has not only earned him Guinness World Record’s fastest flow title, but also has landed him numerous guest spots on songs from artists seeking to duplicate his style.
According to his Wikipedia page, he has been featured on 100 plus songs with major recording artists. That doesn’t include the classic underground joints he got with people like Psychodrama and the Twins. I wouldn’t argue if someone puts him in their Top 20 or even Top 10. He has been consistently someone you can rely on to give you a dope verse or a good song.
