Bill Cosby, the 80-year old legendary comedian was found guilty of drugging and molesting multiple women. Cosby is the recent first celebrity to be accused and convicted of sexual misconduct against women in the so call #metoo era. Mr. Cosby has maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal, but ultimately a jury of seven men and five women convicted him of the crime. The question I have, did they have a choice?

It seems like it was inevitable that it was going to be repercussions for the allegations against Cosby. Even though last year a jury could not decide if they were going to convict him. Their indecisiveness resulted in a deadlock jury and Bill Cosby being able to go home a free man. However, immediately after the trial, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said he was going to retry the case.

This case against Mr. Cosby wasn’t just about women who popped out the blue to talk about incidents that happened in some cases over 30 years ago. For one, the state prosecutor was obviously thirsty to make a professional name for himself. Secondly, it is to give solid credibility to a new #metoo movement that has saw more growth within the last couple years. I’m not saying that all of the women in the #metoo movement are not credible. I’m simply saying that women complaints without results is fruitless. This is what this case is about. It was about making an example out of Bill Cosby. It was to show that regardless of stature, that you can be broken down to low of lows. That low unfortunately for Mr. Cosby will be prison.
