The First NBA 2K16 Trailer Has Arrived And Look At Those Mouthguards!

Set to the sounds of DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win,” the clip is pretty standard as far as trailers go. There are tons of “look at that new guy on his new team,” along with showcases of new uniforms for the Clippers, Bucks, Raptors and Hawks. Of course, there are plenty of shots of cover stars James Harden (in Nike for now), Steph Curry and Anthony Davis in newly designed undershirts that actually go up to the necks.

There’s also a ton of minute details that nobody actually cares about, but which look good in a trailer. Stuff like “James Harden’s beard!” and “LeBron James’ scar!” and “Mouthguards!” Oh, the mouthguards. After the Steph Curry teaser a few weeks back, it was clear 2K Sports had spent an inordinate amount of time on those digital mouthguards, but boy did they want you to see them here.

2K Sports also took the time to add post-game interview photobombs that you’ll be skipping through endlessly, but, hey, they look cool in a trailer.

The most exiting new wrinkle that has been added to the series is the beginning stages of MyCareer mode, that will apparently take you through high school and into college and eventually the pros, directed by none other than Spike Lee. The trailer ends with a glimpse at the player making the announcement of the college he chooses to attend. Last month, the small list of eligible schools was leaked, and, while it’ll likely be a small portion of the MyCareer mode, it’s an interesting and welcomed addition to the game that has players excited.

NBA 2K16 hits store shelves Sept. 29, but those who pre-order their copies here will receive their copies four days early on Sept. 25.
