The Way I See It: “Respect our Father’s Day”

If you truly want to honor single mothers, then do something extra special for them on Mother’s Day or throughout the year.  But don’t take Father’s Day and minimize the respect and honor that good father’s deserve by even insinuating that a mother can be a father.  It’s disrespectful and quite ignorant.  Only women have the nerve to think that they could play a man’s role.  I know some single fathers and not one of them is foolish enough to think that they could play the mother’s role.  NOT ONE.  Its arrogance, and a sever need for attention at its finest.

Really, how can you be a father, when you are not a man and have no idea what is like to be one???  I mean really, HOW CAN YOU BE SO TALENTED AND SKILLFUL ENOUGH TO PLAY THE ROLE OF THE FATHER WHEN YOU CAN’T EVEN RECOGNIZE ONE? WHICH MEANS YOU OBVIOUSLY DON’T KNOW WHAT A GOOD FATHER IS; and if your children have a good father, then HOW LOW IS YOUR SELF ESTEEM THAT HAVE TO HONOR YOURSELF INSTEAD OF HIM ON THIS DAY???

Know this; the man you chose to father your children is a direct reflection OF YOUR DECISION MAKING ABILITY OR LACK THEREOF.  Let us fathers, us men, have our day.  Give us and us alone the respect we deserve as we do women on Mother’s Day.  Better yet, find a good man to play the role of FATHER to your children so you can actually learn what BEING A FATHER IS ALL ABOUT.  And then, maybe then you will honor the people that this holiday was created for. Secondly, stop qualifying Father’s Day for “real” fathers.  You don’t do that nonsense on Mother’s Day.  Show the same respect for fathers that you would want for yourself.  Honor us THE SAME WAY WE HONOR YOU.  Is that really too much to ask???
