Timbuck2 Tribute At House of Blues Was A Night To Remember [Recap: Chicago’s TFJ Foundation 3rd Annual Event #Timbuck2]

The purpose of the night was not only to raise awareness on Cancer, but to also celebrate the life and contributions of Timbuck2 to Chicago’s Hip Hop community. Although the void of his absence can’t be replaced, the spirit of what he  gave back was alive and kicking that night.

The vibe within the place was more of one that you would find at a family or school reunion than you would find at a party. I don’t about the other people who attended, but I saw a lot of folks that I haven’t seen in years. It was a great atmosphere, and it felt like there was a sense of camaraderie towards representing Timbuck2 and the city of Chicago.

When I arrived, the party was already in full swing, however I was still in time to catch the performances of the DJ’s and artists. The bad thing about that, was I wasn’t able to maneuver through the large crowd and get footage. Well maybe I was, but my dislike for large crowds, just relegated me to find some isolated spot where people would not bump into me.

In lieu of me not having footage of some of the performances, I decided to post the artists music video. The first artist I saw hit the stage was The Boy Illinois, who performed a couple songs.

Immediately after, Chicago’s Mic Terror hit the stage and gave a dose of his music.

The pace of the show started to pick up and more Chicago artists hit the stage. Twone Gabz hit the stage with radio personality Teefa and performed a song.

Next up was legendary Chicago rapper Bump J, who has been constant grind mode since he was released from prison earlier this year. After doing a couple of his new singles, he gave a middle finger and big “Fu*k Cancer” to the deadly disease.
