Timeline of Mase and Camron Beef: Childhood Friends to Superstar Rappers

I been doing a little research and been trying to come up with a timeline on how the two came up to this point of dissing each other. First let’s start at the beginning. Mase and Camron both come from Harlem and grew up with each other. In the video below, the two talked about knowing each other since they were as young as 6 years old. You can jump to the 3:30 mark to hear how the two came up together as shorties.

The two talked about how they played basketball together. Here is footage of them hooping together in high school. Go to the 2:00 minute mark to see the footage of the two on the court together.

Mase and Camron didn’t have overnight success in the rap industry. The two have been grinding on the mic since they were teenagers. In his Funkmaster Flex interview, Jim Jones talked about how everyone would hang out in his crib and write rhymes. The two got their introduction to the Rap game from another Harlem legend Big L. He started a group with Mase and Camron called Children of the Corner, which was later shortened to Children of the Corn. The group consisted of Big L, Mase, Camron, Bloodshed and Herb McGruff. In an interview with Dame Dash, Cam talked about the vision Big L had for the group, watch it below.

The group disbanded after Bloodshed died in a car accident in 1997. Any hopes of the group going on without him were shattered when Big L was murdered in 1999. Even though the crew didn’t last long, they still created some memorable music that was hot in the streets of New York. Below is a compilation of their songs and a video of one of their freestyle sessions.
