Timeline of Mase and Camron Beef: Childhood Friends to Superstar Rappers

The buzz generated from their songs put the spotlight back on Mase and Cam’ron. Like true Harlem hustlers, they have been maximizing the momentum every since. Shortly after the release of their diss tracks, the two gave exclusive interviews to explain their side of the story. Cam went on The Breakfast Club and gave more insight on his relationship with Mase. He also gave more clarity on the situation Mase had with Baby Maine. He explained that Mase slept with Baby Maine’s baby momma. In response to that, Maine began to take the ‘All Out’ chains off the necks of members of Mase crew and artists on his label. He explained that was the reason Mase left Harlem and became a pastor. Listen to the interview below.

Although Mase never really gave specific details about his situation with Baby Maine; a few have confirmed the story of Cam that involved Mase, Baby Maine and his baby mother. In the Baby Maine video clip on page 3, the narrator pointed out that the first verse on Mase’s song Jealous Guys was directed toward Baby Maine. I posted the song and the lyrics to the first verse below.

Well, well, well
Now would you be mad if I gave back your girl
Or would it still be a problem with the entire Harlem World
At first you were singing that she was your ex
But you was ready to kill me when you found out we had sex
When I came and told you the deal
You wouldn’t admit how you feel
Now you know your girl love me
Why can’t you just let it be (just let it be)

After Cam’ron did his interview on the Breakfast Club’ Mase did an interview on The Angie Martinez Show. He talked about what pushed him to make The Oracle song. He also he gave a rationale about how he flip flop between being a pastor and a rapper. Listen to the interview below

Soon after that, Mase dropped another song called Rap Rushmore that featured Puffy and DJ Khaled. Listen to the song below

This whole ordeal between Mase and Cam’ron has lead me to one conclusion. That is after over 20 years in the rap game, both have found a way to remain reinvent themselves and remain revelant. There have been some serious issues and elements that have led to tragic and unfortunate events in their lives and the lives of others. Excluding that element, I’m not sure if the so called beef between the two has been used and reused to sell records. If you went through this timeline with me; tell me what you think? Considering the fact, that lives have been lost and people have been affecting by their beef; do you think it is real? Or do you think it has been a big marketing ploy to keep their name buzzing in the music industry? Or is it a combination of both? Leave your comments and opinions below.
