I hope this is everyone’s unanimous decision for number one. The movie was released almost 30 years ago and you can hear broadcasters on ESPN still quote lines from the film. “If his mama name him Clay; I’m going to call him Clay.”
Boomerang
Maybe not one of his funniest movies. However, the combination of humor, romance, and substance makes it one of the best.
Harlem Nights
A movie with Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy has to be in everyone’s top five comedy movie list. Well at least it should be.
The Nutty Professor
Believe or not. I was about to leave this movie off this list. But this is one of Eddie Murphy best acting jobs. The family dinner scene by itself catapults this in the top five.
Trading Places
Honestly this movie could be replaced with 48 Hours or Beverly Hills Cop and I wouldn’t argue it. All three pretty much have the same entertainment value for me.
