Calories from alcohol are ’empty calories’ which means they have no nutritional value at all.  Drinking alcohol also reduces the amount of fat your body burns for energy. While we can store nutrients, protein, carbohydrates, and fat in our bodies, we can’t store alcohol. Mocktail- If you are trying to watch your calorie intake and want to still drink then after you have a “real drink” have a nonalcoholic, preferably zero-calorie beverage (like sparkling water with a lime) that looks like the real thing.
