Top Ten NBA Players 2017-2018 Season

Power Forwards

Anthony Davis

PPG RPG APG BLKS

27.4 12.7 2.4 2.1

Career: 22.5 10.2 1.8 2.4

I see Boogie Cousins numbers and I know he is a beast among men. Yet I don’t understand why people say is the best big man in the league. In my opinion, that distinction still belongs to Anthony Davis. I may be picking hairs, but I think Davis is just as talented as Cousins on offense and is a better defender. I believe by the end of this season, barring injuries, that the combination of Davis, Cousins along with Rondo will be unwelcome sight in the playoffs.

Draymond Green

9.7 7.8 7.2 0.9

Career: 9.0 6.8 1.0

I know there are some people who are saying why isn’t Giannis “The Greek Freak” Antetokounmpo in my top ten? I know there are some people saying he chose Draymond Green over the Greek Freak? In honor of those people I want to say rest in peace to Della Reese and quote one of her famous lines in the movie Harlem Nights. KISS- MY- ASS! Of course I know Giannis has more talent than Draymond. Yes I know he is killing the league this season. And eventually, most likely next season, he will be in my top ten list. Honestly, I didn’t want to be a prisoner of the moment in regards to his hot start this season. He is averaging 30 points and 10 rebounds this season. How can I ignore that? I will tell you how. I look at Draymond and I see someone who at 6’7 would take on the assignment of guarding Giannis. Yeah he would get his ass bust, but he would not let the guy beat him in a seven game series. To me Darymond is the new Rodman, but he can score. He gets triple doubles. He knocks down the open shot. He was the Defensive Player of the Year. He does whatever takes to get the win. And this season, he is still in my top ten.

Centers

DeMarcus Cousins

28.6 13.7 5.8 1.9

Career: 21.3 10.9 3.1 1.2

I think Cousins would be so much better, if he just dominates. I hear Shaq and Barkley talk about it on Inside the NBA. Just go down low, get on the block and serve your man. No one can stop Cousins anywhere on the court. I think he is so talented that he wants to showcase all his skills. He likes the dribbles and occasionally will bring the ball up the court. He likes to shoot three pointers and does so often. I mean, if you were the big and had his talent, you probably want to display it also. However if he just take advantage of his size and skill, he can be like Shaq in 1996. Maybe. Maybe Not. Still, I think it would be more beneficial towards winning games for his team. I think having Rajon Rondo, a champion, who is vocal, will help him develop his game more.

Karl Anthony Towns

21.8 10.9 2.0 1.5

Career: 21.7 11.3 2.3 1.5

Take a look at the big men in the league right now. Look at the last four guys I selected on this list. You can exclude Draymond out and probably put in Joel Embiid. Then look at Davis, Cousins, and Karl Anthony Towns. These guys are amazing. They represent how futuristic the NBA and the modern athlete are. You have seven footers who can run the floor, dribble, shoot the long ball and score down low. When people saw Dirk in his prime, it was kind of a shocker. However he was more in the mold of KD and the Greek Freak. However these guys are kind of the new standard on how you want your big man to be. The reason I suggested that DeMarcus Cousins should go down low more, is because he is heavier than these other guys. Karl Anthony Towns bangs down low, but he doesn’t quite has the mass to dominate down there. He dominates more on length and his unique skill set. And just for the record, I love how he competes. He is entertaining player to watch.
