Trump Told City Club Confederate Flag ‘Should Be In A Museum’

In an appearance two years ago at the City Club of Chicago, in the early days of his presidential campaign, Trump said unequivocally that the Confederate flag “should be in a museum.”

This week, however, Trump has been busy defending Confederate symbols such as statues and monuments, tweeting that it’s “sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You … can’t change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson — who’s next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish!”
