U-M Sticking With Plans To Show ‘American Sniper’ After Uproar; Harbaugh Weighs In With Support

Criticism of the Ann Arbor school flooded in after the Center for Campus Involvement announced Tuesday that it was dropping plans to show the blockbuster. The cancellation followed complaints from dozens of students complained about portrayals of Arabs and the Middle East in the film.

But the center did an about-face Wednesday and said the movie would be shown “in a forum that provides an appropriate space for dialogue and reflection,” instead of during Friday’s UMix event.
