Uber released its inaugural safety report and revealed that a lot of sexual assaults that occurred within the company go unreported to the police. The 84-page transparency report pointed out that only 37 percent of the 464 reports of rape cases in Uber U.S rides in 2017 and 2018 were turned over to the police. It was also disclosed that were 6,000 reports of sexual assault and 100 deaths in that time period. Speaking to the Washington Post, Uber Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi said “Our first order is not reporting to the police… Our first order is to help the survivor.” To read more about this story click here.
