Update: Dancehall Artist Ninjaman Gets Life in Prison; Parole After 25 Years

Dancehall artist Ninjaman was found guilty of murder on Monday (November 20) at Home Circuit Court in Kingston after three hours and 11 minutes of deliberation.

Ninjaman, born Desmond Ballentine, was tried with two others, including his son Janeil, in the 2009 murder of Ricardo Johnson, also known as ‘Trooper’, in Olympic Garden, St Andrew. Seven witnesses testified in the case, including one who said that Ninjaman and a group of men entered a courtyard with Ninjaman, who the witness claims fired two shots at Johnson as he ran out of the area.

According to reports, Ninjaman was heard saying, “A suh it go man,” while leaving the courtroom.
