In a speech earlier this week, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said that drug overdoses is the leading cause of death for Americans under the age of 50. 52,000 overdoses were reported in 2015 and over 60,000 were reported in 2016. Rosenstein said that annual increase was the largest in American history. “On an average day, 90 Americans will die from an opioid-related overdose.” he said.
