Utah Jazz Player Jordan Clarkson helps Restore Local Food Truck that was Vandalized with Anti-Asian Hate Graffiti

NBA player Jordan Clarkson not only does good things on the basketball court, he also assists in the community as well. A local food truck in Salt Lake City, Utah called Yum Yum was vandalized with graffiti. The owners who are Asians got their truck sprayed with Anti-Asian slurs.  

Clarkson who is native of San Antonia, but plays for the Utah Jazz stepped in and helped out after seeing the pictures circulate online.  

Clarkson who is Filipino-American won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the year award this season. Not only did the family receive support for their truck, they were also invited to watch the Jazz play. During halftime they were presented with an autograph jersey from Jordan Clarkson.   

Over the last year or so, there has been a dramatic jump in Asian hate crimes. From March 2020 to 20221, there were more than 6re than 6,600 incidents reported, according to Stop AAPI Hate.
