On the heels of his video submission “Colorful Vocab” to Blacktruth.net; Vocab Slick stopped by to chop it up with us. He talked about his start in the rap game and his plans for the future. Check out his interview below.

How did you get your name?
When I first started rapping I had my hair slicked back so cats called me Slick so I just adopted that as my rap name even when I started cutting my hair short. I took it to mean I had a slick delivery or ”slick talk”. One day I was doing a show and this dude was impressed with what I was doing onstage and said I had hella vocabulary, so I took the vocabulary and became Vocabulary Slick. As the years went by It got shortened to Vocab Slick.
