What I’m about to say may not go over well with my people in the southern region of the country, but I have to say what I feel. In my opinion, the food at the Waffle House restaurants are overrated. I have been traveling to Atlanta and Texas for years and I don’t get the love affair that people have with the food there. Whenever I’m in the south I try to avoid going to a Waffle House restaurant. However if you happen to be out late and want a bite to eat, that is the only place to go. Usually when I go, it is late night and I’m surrounded by people who just left the club. The atmosphere is sometimes loud and raucous. I can imagine it can be pain for the employees who have to deal with drunk customers who may be sometimes unruly
