Was Colin Kaepernick a Sellout for Accepting Buyout From NFL?

What about the people who joined in on protesting the NFL based on Kaepernick not playing? There were a lot of people who refused to watch the football games. I wonder does this feel like a victory or even satisfactory to them? Celebrities like John Legend, J. Cole and even Stevie Wonder joined in on a protest.

Stevie Wonder and his son Kwame Morris onstage during the 2017 Global Citizen Festival: For Freedom. For Justice. For All. in Central Park on September 23, 2017 in New York City.

Not to mention artists who sacrificed money like Jay-Z, Rihanna and Cardi B who all refused to perform at the Super Bowl.

I once again I want to ask did Kaepernick sell them out? Former football player Larry Johnson thinks so: “If your backdrop is going to be the African American civil rights presence that it brought from the ’60s and you’re going to use that for your own causes, you don’t sell out. You don’t turn your message into a Nike hoodie,” he said

On the other hand, Chicago legend Common doesn’t think Kaepernick sold out. In talking with TMZ, he said: “the journey is what matters.”

What do you think? Do you feel like Colin Kaepernick is a sell out because he settled with the NFL? Leave your comments below.
