“The Freeman Rule”
In football they have a rule where if a team is searching for a head coach that they are required to interview at least one minority; it’s called the Rooney rule, named after Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney. On television they always have an all white cast with that one black person on the show. I like to call it the “Freeman Rule” on behalf of the great actor Morgan Freeman. Don’t get me wrong I love Morgan
Freeman’s character’s and his movies, and have enjoyed watching television shows and movies where there was nothing but white people in there for years, but I miss watching the one or two shows that came on and the whole cast was black and the producer wasn’t Tyler Perry. The last show I watched on a consistent basis was HBO’s the Wire; which ended in 2008…. Did I mention I haven’t had a T.V for three years?
