Eight days after Puerto Rico declared a state of emergency, officials from the White House have decided to send assistance to the island. Security Adviser Tom Bossert said 7,000 troops and 10,000 people in total will be sent to help Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Maria. The U.S. Navy ship Comfort, which is a 1,000 bed hospital ship will be deployed from Virginia. Bossert tried to defend the procrastination surrounding the efforts to assist Puerto Rico.  “The constraints and limitations are different from a contiguous state here in the United States. We can position hundreds of trucks in Florida or Texas for restoration of line services. We can’t do that in Puerto Rico.” he said. To read more about this story click here.
