Three White students who attend the University of Mississippi have been suspended by their fraternity after posing in front of Emmitt Till Memorial with AR-15 guns.
Three students were suspended from their fraternity house, Kappa Alpha, after we shared an Instagram photo one of the men posted that was taken in front of a sign commemorating the murder of the 14-year-old black youth in 1955. https://t.co/TjaevSmo2a

Despite the suspensions, Kappa Alpha has had a history of racist behavior. On their website, the fraternity states that Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee is their “spiritual founder.” In 2002, students at the University of Virginia chapter of Kappa Alpha wore blackface at a Halloween party. The photo has been removed from Instagram and has been forwarded to the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division for investigation.
