Yes, you read that correctly. On this upcoming episode, millions of watchers have the chance to hear the racial slur on primetime television for the first time. One of the show’s stars, Jerrod Carmichael, spoke about why this is happening.
“N-word’ is childish.. say it!” Carmichael told Deadline. “We know what we’re talk about; we’re not speaking to children.” But, don’t worry parents. There will be a parental advisory shown before the show begins at its normal time slot on Wednesday at 9:00pm PT.
Though many may not have heard the word on TV before, it’s definitely been said in the past. An old episode of “All In The Family” had the word spoken, as well. But, “Carmichael“ actress Loretta Devine said this happened “before political correctness,” during an interview at NBCU Summer Press Day.
