Yvonne’s Spiritual Healing … “Just Enough”

Singing Poet

“Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:”  —Proverb 30:8

Just enough Lord I don’t need a lot; just enough to provide the necessities of life—enough to feed me, cloth me provide shelter from life’s storms. Just enough Lord not too much—for receiving more than I need may lead to greed. Can you ever have too much—get enough—what’s the end result?

 Too Much:

Eating—overweight – eventually problems with your health.

Drinking—getting drunk – suffering a hangover – don’t drive drunk.

Smoking—lung cancer – eventually a death sentence.

Medication—addicted, an overdose waiting to happen.

Everything in moderation I’m not greedy I just need enough. Greed leads to self-indulgence, gluttony an unquenchable thirst for more. A bottomless pit you can never fill up. Just enough so I won’t sin—so I’m not tempted to lie or steal. Just enough Lord I don’t need a lot, enough to pay my bills so I’m not evicted from my house.

But I can never get enough of God’s amazing grace, his love and his mercy which I need daily to sustain me. I don’t need to be rich for it might tamper with my faith? Wealth can’t buy health—salvation has no price.

“A little that a righteous man hath is better than

the riches of many wicked.”

—Psalms 37: 16
