Perhaps this is the reason why we didn’t see new Apple TV hardware or a software update from this week’s event either.The latest beta software for Apple TV is said to include HomeKit integration, so it’s possible Apple is holding off on both for now and will launch both together.
Another theory is that HomeKit could launch around the time Apple Watch makes its official debut. Apple emphasized again on Thursday that the Apple Watch would be debuting in 2015, but details are still fuzzy on when. We’re assuming, of course, that there will be a dedicated Apple Watch event — we could see either a small or large-scale presentation for press to get their hands on the device when it’s ready to go.
